Who is Lydia?
In today’s post, we are going to discuss a special lady mentioned only briefly in the book of Acts. She was not part of the genealogy of Jesus, she never met Jesus while He was on earth, and her name only appears twice in the Bible. Yet, her actions are inspiring, and she had a beautiful impact on the early church.

Importance of Serving in the Church
Serving in the church is an important part of being an integrated member of the church. Sometimes we refer to those serving as being the hands and feet of Christ. There are a myriad number of ways to serve in your local church. In this post we’ll take some time unpacking the whys and hows of serving in the local church.

Importance of the Church
While every church has a building they meet in, the church is truly the people who gather together for fellowship, preaching, teaching, and accountability.

Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control
Today we will discuss the final three fruits of the Spirit as given to us in Galatians 5. As previously mentioned, these characteristics are not a result of our own effort but as an outpouring of the Holy Spirit at work within us.

Love, Joy, Peace
The first three fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians are love, joy, and peace.

My Prayer Today
This post is going to be a little different than our “normal” blog posts. However, it is something that is on my heart and I feel God wants me to share it. I hope it blesses your soul and urges you to spend more time with Him as you become a more genuine disciple.

Attributes of God: Part 2
God is perfectly holy, always faithful, forever patient, righteously just, and incredibly loving. He made us in His image, so we can also exhibit these attributes, with His help of course.

It’s More Than Just A Flower
Sometimes referred to as the doctrines of grace, we are going to spend today’s post learning about the reformed tradition of TULIP. Because theology matters. Thinking about these 5 points or TULIP help us to dwell on and articulate our view of God, ourselves, sin, and grace. TULIP stands for total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and perseverance of the saints.

Prayers of Gratitude and Prayers of Confession
Today pray a prayer of gratitude to the God that sent His one and only Son to make a way for us to have a personal and atoning relationship with Him. Pray a prayer of confession, admitting your failures and inadequacies, knowing that God hears you and will forgive you.

The Basics of Prayer
Y’all, prayer is VITAL. We have to do it. Imagine going days without talking to your spouse or someone who lives in the same house as you. It’s not healthy. The same is true of our relationship with God- we need to be in communication with Him

No More Resolutions
By choosing today to take time to just focus on God and ask Him to align your heart to His, you’ll be off to a fabulous start in the new year.

Why we can have JOY this Advent Season
Because of Jesus we can experience the attitude of JOY, especially during the Christmas season.

How we can have HOPE this Advent Season
Because of Jesus, we can have HOPE. The prophets of the Old Testament spoke of the HOPE that all people could be counted as part of the family of God and that Jesus the Messiah would come. Jesus Himself spoke of the HOPE we can have to spend eternity with Him and knowing that He will return.

But who is God and how can we describe Him?
God is beyond our comprehension, but we do know for sure that He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is more than worthy of all of our praise and devotion!

What is the Bible?
The Bible is a massively important book for us as believers. Yes, sometimes it may be challenging for us to read and understand because the culture in which it was written is so different from ours. Nevertheless, it is vital that you study the Word and seek to find the meaning that God has given.

Reformation Day
This action led to the Protestant Reformation and inspired believers to pursue genuine faith through true repentance and a biblical foundation.

10 Commandments Part 3- How to Love Others
Commandments five through ten are all about loving others, but we can still see a need for loving God woven throughout.

Resting in Christ
The fourth commandment is to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. As evangelical believers, we are to follow this command, although in a slightly different way than our Jewish ancestors.
Instead of trying to cram God into a world shaped box, remember Him in everything we do! In our words and actions at work, home, church. It’s easier said than done, but when our actions are for God solely, we don’t risk accidentally creating idols. We don’t risk allowing our hearts to honor others over God.
This isn’t easy! It’s a conscious effort. Something we have to think about constantly throughout the day. But, with steps one through three, it becomes a little easier.
And this is how we prioritize God!
When we prioritize God as our foundation, we agree to build our lives on Him. We trust that He will provide, guide, and sustain us. Not our own actions. Not the actions of the people around us.
We are no longer driven by worry or fear, but instead by our faith in Him and confidence in His plan. As our world seems to get crazier by the second, isn’t this a beautiful gift?
